So .....Pennsylvania can be rough. We had a freak snow storm here in the Pocono's of Pa on Monday Night /Tuesday that dumped about 14 inches in my yard.
We are used to snow here but weren't prepared for this one seeing it was kind of early.
I don't think anyone was prepared for it as there were cars stuck everywhere.
What made it so bad was the fact that we had heavy rain prior to the storm which made for soggy ground and trees. The snow was wet and heavy and stuck to the trees. Then the winds were strong so the combination of all of these things made for plenty of downed trees.
One tree came down in my yard and ripped the wires right off the house. needless to say, we lost electricity along with many others. Ours was out from Monday night till today Oct 31st.
I spent each of my days melting snow on the wood stove so I'd have water for washing, cleaning, flushing and dishes. I'll tell ya it was like a scene from little house on the prairie. :)
All is well now and I am thankful my family and house are ok. And very thankful that we have a wood stove. We may invest in a generator soon.
So thanks to the wonderful hard working folks from PPL electric utilities and crews from other areas, I believe that most folks are now warm and comfy in their homes.
And my cable company( Blue Ridge CABLE) was here just a few hours after I called to report my cable lines were down.
I now realize how much we take for granted and how many books a teen can read when there is nothing to plug in. I also realize that teens actually talk when there is no computer or xbox to stare at.
I realize that I have wonderful neighbors and our local supermarket ( Dutch's in Greentown) and
our local gas station were there with ice and water for folks that needed it.
Good things CAN come from a bad situation. I am blessed to live in a great town!
Life is good!

The photo makes winter appear so beautiful so early this year.
U ask for fellow zazzle/cafepress folk and here is a natural born promoter in the loop at both so will recommend for the complete list see my ABOUT ME page at http://www.zazzle.com/tikitoon*
Just a few of the sites mention zazzle groups include squidoo, flickr, vox.com, colourlovers.com and more.
The best communication for all things cafepress is the Yahoo Great Gears group. The link is in the list.
Also, if you don't yet, you should sign up for twitter and follow and be followed by other twitterers. It seems so random until you discover http://search.twitter.com and put in the keyword: zazzle or cafepress. You will meet lots of us there everyday online, updating shops and promoting. Of course, you can follow folks that you take an interest in from the search but it is becoming recommended in the twitter etiquette realm, to introduce yourself and your common interest. Most twitterers are naturally communicative and not shy and very nice.
